David M. Mizrachi Fidanque
David is the senior partner at Mizrachi Davarro & Urriola. He is a US trained lawyer, admitted to practice in Panama and the State of Florida, United States of America. As such, David has had unique experience in the private practice of Panamanian commercial law in a comparative legal environment, including extensive exposure to several common law and civil law jurisdictions, in the United States, Latin America and Europe. During the early 1990’s he was associated with the firm of Adorno & Zeder (now Adorno & Yoss) in Miami, Florida. He has recently served as Panamanian co-counsel in a multi-million dollar commercial arbitration under the auspices of the American Arbitration Association, in litigation against fashion apparel licensor in Federal Court in New York, and in a successful request for US based discovery in front of a Federal Court in Atlanta in aid of an action pending in a foreign court.He has also negotiated several apparel distribution contracts and licensing agreements on behalf of local licensees with international manufacturers and licensors. David represented an international architecture firm which was awarded a multi-million dollar public bid to renovate Panama’s international airport, drafted and negotiated several e-commerce related contracts on behalf of Panamanian banks, acted as defense co-counsel in multi-million dollar tort claim against one of Panama’s largest banks, and successfully defended a large retail chain against charges of selling allegedly counterfeit goods brought by an international apparel company. He acted as local counsel in large venture capital deal involving regional technology distributor, and assisted a local bank in its successful pre qualification to bid for management of government pension fund in conjunction with a Florida based investment management firm. Additionally, David has served as an expert on Panamanian law in several court cases including New York State Court and Federal District Courts in Florida and Indiana. He is a neutral of the World Intellectual Property Organization’s Arbitration Center and a Public Translator.
